Fall farms are open

U-pick flower farm that adds a pumpkin patch in the fall. Cut your own bouquet and pick a pumpkin in the same trip. Open through October 25.
Jordan’s Garden
Boise garden center and seasonal market that sets up a pumpkin patch each fall. Close in for Boise families.
Kovick Kountry Farm
Payette County’s fall farm, with a maze, pumpkin patch, food vendors, and a barn to shop. Entertainment changes week to week and has included line dancing and a scarecrow contest. A close option for Fruitland, Payette, and Ontario families.
Linder Farms
Working family farm that opens for fall with a corn maze and pumpkin patch.
For teens: haunted houses

Free haunted maze in Boise that takes about half an hour to walk through. A milder first haunt.
Requiem Haunted House
Indoor haunt in a century-old building in downtown Caldwell. Tickets are sold online.
The Haunted World
The valley’s longest-running haunt, open since 2000, with indoor and outdoor attractions on a big property near the interstate between Nampa and Caldwell.
If the weather turns

Hands-on science exhibits kids are supposed to touch. A go-to for cold or rainy days.
MK Nature Center
Small nature center on Idaho Fish and Game land with walking trails and windows into the stream to watch fish.
Boise WaterShed
Environmental education center about where the valley’s water comes from, with exhibits and outdoor grounds.
